Chase Delrie

BIO:

Chase was first introduced into CrossFit by his father, Rick, back in the summer of 2014.  He quickly found a passion for the sport of fitness and received his CrossFit Level 1 certification that September, and is looking to add his Level 2 certification this summer.

“When I found the sport of CrossFit, I was drawn by the family-like atmosphere, the mental and physical challenge, as well as the competitive side it provided.”

Before finding CrossFit, Chase stayed active in a traditional gym setting, using workout videos and playing weekly basketball games on Sundays with friends. Chase coached basketball at various high schools over the years, including a couple of years at St. John High School and Ellender High School before taking the head coach position Lutcher High for eight years and then French Settlement for two years.   He’s now ready to bring that passion he has to coach into the CrossFit box. “Sports and coaching have been a part of my life as long as I can remember, it’s all I’ve ever known, and all I’ve ever wanted to do.”

Chase has been in the parish since 2011.  He grew up in Denham Springs and graduated from Nicholls State University in the fall of 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Health & Physical Education. Chase has been in education for eleven years and is a physical education teacher at the Math & Science Academy in St. Gabriel, La.  Chase isn’t the only member of CrossFit Virtus in his family.  His father Rick is an active and long-time member in the box, and his younger brother Chris was once a member as well. Chase is the father of a beautiful baby boy Attix (14 months), and the son of his wonderful mother Alyce.

A message from Chase:

CrossFit has absolutely been the best way for me to reach my fitness goals. The team atmosphere has given me the opportunity to better myself as an individual, and the camaraderie and the second family that I’ve been able to build through CrossFit means everything to me. As a coach, I will strive to motivate and inspire each member to develop the body and mind that they have the potential to achieve. CrossFit is a lifestyle, and if you accept the challenge, the blessing and benefits will change your life. All you need are two things you control every day, your attitude and your effort, so bring a positive one and give your best.
