Skill:
Muscle-up practice (15 mins)
Practice for muscle-ups can be done many different ways. One can use the rings on the pull-up rack to practice on ring rows, ring dips and transitioning from the pull to the dip. OR, one can use the hanging wooden rings to practice actual muscle-ups. Use your current skill level to determine where you want to focus your efforts for 15 mins. I will be able to give general feedback to everyone during the practice, but won’t have one-on-one time to ensure that you are doing it 100% accurately. Gymnastic skill movements require a great deal of practice and kinesthetic awareness to become proficient in. HOMEWORK and PRACTICE will pay off in the future.

Standards of Movement:
Thruster
This is a standard barbell thruster in which the barbell moves from the bottom of a front squat to full lock out overhead. The bar starts on the ground. No racks allowed. The hip crease must pass below the knees. A full squat clean into the thruster is allowed if the bar is on the ground. The barbell must come to full lockout overhead with the hips, knees and arms fully extended, and the bar directly over the heels.
Chest-to-bar Pull-up
This is a standard chest to bar pull-up. Dead-hang, kipping or butterfly pull-ups are all allowed as long as all the requirements are met. The arms must be fully extended at the bottom. At the top, the chest must clearly come into contact with the bar.
